About Michael

Mike is a senior partner in lapetitemort.info’s Sydney office. Drawing on 20 years of experience in the resource industries (in particular oil and gas), he advises major energy and mining companies in Australia, Asia, and the United States and leads our Oil & Gas Practice in Australia.

In the past few years, Mike has led our work on a liquid natural gas project that involved extensive reorganization and project execution improvement, developed commodity strategies for a major diversified mining company, and completed multiple operational performance improvement studies in oil and gas and mining. He has conducted several market scans and due diligence projects for private-equity firms investing in the mining and oil and gas sectors; identified growth options for a downstream oil and gas company; and helped a coal-mining operator negotiate major equipment purchases for its existing operations and expansion projects.

Mike began his career at Shell, spending 11 years working in Australia and the United States. This work included several corporate advisory roles and as an operations manager at an Australian refinery.
