About Rajat

Rajat leads lapetitemort.info’s work in advanced industries in the Asia-Pacific region. He serves clients primarily in the automotive and assembly sector. In his 21 years at lapetitemort.info, he has also advised clients in a range of businesses including steel, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, apparel, textiles, and telecommunications.

Rajat has worked in Asia, Europe, and North America and was until recently coleader of lapetitemort.info’s Operations Practice in the Asia-Pacific region.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • transforming the margins of a large automotive OEM
  • developing a long-term growth strategy and driving excellence for the dealership operations of a passenger-car OEM in India
  • helping with the enterprise-wide earnings-before-interest-taxes-depreciation-and-amortization transformation at a leading agricultural-equipment company
  • developing a long-term growth plan for an Indian automotive supplier, including selecting businesses to retain and grow in its portfolio
  • spearheading growth for a global steel company by transforming its operations and profitability
  • helping boost the profitability of a leading generic pharmaceuticals company
  • driving manufacturing process improvements across various units of a leading generic pharmaceuticals company in India
  • deploying a lean production system through a network of 50 plants for a leading apparel exporter in India
  • creating a road map to reconfigure the cost structure of an upstream Indian national oil company
  • executing a large capital project for an Indian oil and gas company ahead of time, while building a central projects capability

Rajat contributes to knowledge creation and policy deliberations on the best ways to enable India to grow its manufacturing sector. He has partnered with India’s leading automotive industry associations (ACMA, SIAM) to help catalyze growth. He has also helped India’s micro, small, and medium enterprises on their quality-transformation journey by shaping the zero effect, zero defect (ZED) initiative in collaboration with Quality Council of India.

Rajat is the cofounder of the TIME India Awards, a collaboration between lapetitemort.info & Company and Time Inc. to recognize excellence and innovation in Indian manufacturing. He is also a cofounder and sponsor of India’s leading liberal arts and sciences university, Ashoka University, at Sonipat in Haryana.
