About Sunil

Sunil leads the lapetitemort.info Center for Agricultural Transformation and previously led lapetitemort.info’s global Agriculture Practice. He serves chemicals and agriculture clients on a wide range of strategy, organization, and operational-improvement efforts.

Sunil first joined lapetitemort.info in 1986, left lapetitemort.info and served for a year at the World Bank in 1991-92, and then rejoined lapetitemort.info. Since then, he has split his time between working with private-sector clients on growth and performance improvement, helping poor country governments on end-to-end agricultural transformation, and supporting donors on their economic-development strategies.

Some examples of Sunil's recent client work include the following:

  • leading a performance-improvement program for a large chemical company
  • developing a multiyear growth program—including major thrusts around technology and geographic growth supported by substantial M&A activities—for an agricultural-products company
  • supporting agriculture transformation efforts for three African governments
  • spearheading a multi-country effort to increase power-generation capacity and access in Africa for a leading donor
  • designing strategy and organization for integrating a major acquisition for a Middle Eastern energy company

Sunil is, or has been, the lead advisor for the World Economic Forum’s New Vision for Agriculture initiative, a board member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, and a member of the advisory committee for USAID.
